flying needles

Oreo has been suffering with allergies this Fall, and I've been bringing him to his acupuncturist for some relief.

She's moved from a very busy vet office to a private office in a house, which is much better for Oreo,

Oreo has made himself at home!  Jumping on the furniture to look out the window.

He used to be very timid at his appointments, and would hide behind me on a leather bench.

Not here.

After the doctor put all his needles in, he decided to stroll around the room and give himself a good shake.   This caused half his needles to fly around the room.  Luckily, none of us got one stuck in our eye.

The doctor had to put in new needles.

After round 2, Oreo walked right up to the doctor, and showed her how he can take the needles out with his teeth.

Mr. Smarty Pants.

I told oreo he better behave, because the vet was typing up all this in his file, and it was going on his permanent record.

Then, Oreo pranced away, finally laid down, got in the acupuncture zone, looking all dreamy eyed, and nodded off for the next twenty minutes. He must've remembered....oh yea, this stuff makes me feel good.

He's such a goof.

eyeball popsicle

Tried to get some hammock time in this Saturday, in between the rain showers.

Chewy joined me on the hammock, but kept lying down/standing up.  He said, "This bed is too hard."  He just couldn't get comfortable.

Finally, he noticed the pillow my head was on.  He worked his way up to the top of the hammock, which is not an easy balancing move (he has some really good core strength!), and plopped himself on the pillow, wrapped around my head.

Then, licked my eyeball like a popsicle.

Unfortunately, all this fun ended too soon, as the rain started up again.  We'll try again next weekend.

"I hope next week's popsicle flavor is beef!"

same park, new look

It's been a beautiful fall weekend.

Everytime we go to the park, it looks different, because some leaves have fallen and new leaves are starting to turn.

Unfortunately, the ticks are out in full force now, searching out warm bodies to cling too. Not fun. Even though I love this gorgeous fall weather, the ticks make me hope for a good solid freeze.

Just when I finally got Chewy to stop and drink water from the creek to.

And here he is on "his" rock. He heads there every time!

mishmash monday

Not sure what was happening here!  Maybe Chewy is getting his scary face ready for Halloween?

Off he goes!

This little guy lives under our umbrella.  He stayed like this while we raised and lowered the umbrella.  He must have sticky fingers.

Taking photos is soooooooo boring.

lovely blog award

Our good friend, Helen, gave us the "One Lovely Blog Award."

Thanks for nominating us Helen!  I love reading about Beckett and Keltic's adventures with you.

There are rules that go with this award, but I'm breaking some of them!

I will list 7 facts about myself (and oreo & chewy).  I tried to pick stuff most of you wouldn't already know.  But I feel like you already know everything, so it was hard!

1. I've done yoga every day for the past 80 days (when will I stop counting?)!  A lot of times I have to downward dog around my down dogs.  My favorite yoga youtube site is's very entertaining.

2. I never get to work early.  In fact, if my co-workers arrive after me, they say, "Wow, I must be REALLY late."

3. I consider myself to be a bad driver, even though I've never caused an accident.  I can't drive backwards and I can't drive any car that isn't "compact".

4. Speaking of cars, Oreo barks like a madman in the car, unless he rides shotgun.  I know the front seat isn't the safest place for him, but I let him sit there (seatbelted) to maintain all of our sanity.

5. I can teach my dog to roll himself up in a blanket, but I can't be bothered to train Chewy not to bark nonstop while I make his dinner.

6.  The only way I can get out of the house without the dogs following me is to throw them treats down the hallway.

7.  The only pet I had growing up was a chameleon named BG (because he could turn both brown and green).  He was a classroom pet that our teacher offered up to the class.  I asked my mom if I could bring him home.  She said, "I'll think about it."  The next day, BG came home with me.  I had him for awhile, but sadly, he died.  My parents tried to replace him with a new one before I found out.  BG was a skinny little thing. My dad went to the petstore and brought home a fat chameleon with only half a tail.  I was not fooled.

Have a happy day everyone!

dogs or elephants?

I thought I'd take a video of our peaceful walk through the woods, so I could capture the sweet crunch, crunch, crunching of the leaves.

Well, for two twenty pound dogs and one relatively small human, we sure sound like a herd of elephants walking through the woods!  I think we needed to slow down, but that's simply not in our nature.  We certainly aren't going to be able to sneak up on anything.
