garage time

Oreo spent some time in the garage this weekend...keeping track of Jeff "working" in the garage on a bike. 'Working' seems to involve a lot of sitting around, looking at the bike, pondering....

One day, we went to Target and came home with this motorcycle (not sold at any Target I know), because it was a deal.  If you know Jeff, this is not an uncommon occurrence.  Here is what the bike originally looked like:

Initially, Jeff planned on selling it right away for a profit (also not uncommon), but instead transformed it into this!   OK, I admit, all that sitting/looking/pondering stuff helped turn this ugly duckling into a pretty cool bike.  And yes, some work was definitely involved.

Oreo was a willing model with the finished bike.

Chewy was not.

happy new year

A midweek day off from school for Rosh Hashanah!  What a treat!

Took the dogs to the park first thing in the morning.  The leaves are just starting to change.  Photos (at least mine) simply don't show the brilliant colors, but I just found a foliage mode on my camera, so I'm going to try that out next trip to the park.

The water is really low, since we've had very little rain the past month or so.

I love how the leaves are falling in the water.  Chewy must have thought it was interesting too, because he climbed up on this rock to get a better view.

Then, he wasn't quite sure how he was going to get down without getting his feet wet.

Yea, I had to go in and rescue him.

It was great to have a day to take it all in, look around, and listen to the sound of the crunching leaves.

Best part?  One more day and it's the weekend!  So we can do this all over again!

Oreo continues to do great on these walks.  In fact, we can now walk through the open field you see above!  No problem.  That is a huge step for him, because he feels safer in enclosed spaces.

quick post!

Just a quick post to let everyone know we are still here!  Back to school is a busy time for teachers.

But, I've been trying to take the dogs on adventures a few times a week to help us all destress from the big change and have some fun!

Chewy gets very excited about hiking:

And about eating corn on the cob:

Fall is my favorite time of year!  Hope all of you are finding time to get out and enjoy the splendor.
