pups in boots

'Hercules' is "bearing down" right now.

We got a quick 5 inches this morning.  The next round, expected this afternoon, is supposed to bring a lot more (up to 18 inches total).

It'll  up to the dogs' heads by tomorrow. So, I bundled myself and the dogs up to play outside while we can.

Neither was happy about wearing boots, but with the frigid temps, we had to put up with them.

Surprisingly, the coat seemed to bother Chewy more than his boots today.

After about ten minutes, Chewy forgot he was wearing his coat and was able to play and bark at the shovel like normal.
After coming inside, I decided to turn the oven on to help warm us up and bake the dogs some peanut butter cookies!
Stay warm everybody.

Omg they are so cute in those coats. Esp Chewy with his fur all fluffed out around his head.

We are so happy to see the boys wearing boots...sadly many dog peeps don't realize dogs can get frost bite - especially if they are not use to to the cold. That is Reilly's favorite thing to do too.....stick his head in it and play bulldozer :) They say we MIGHT get 1-2" of snow on Sunday and we are going for a high of 18 on Monday.....yikes - that is a polar blast for us :)

Chewy was just too funny! I was smiling watching him. Poor Oreo, no one to play with.

Awww how adorable. It's going to be very very cold here which means we carry Katie out and let her do her job and rush her right back inside again.

It's getting wicked cold here, too! I hope you guys stay warm. Something tells me that we might see a few snow days next week because of the cold, but I'm afraid to hope for it.

Laughing so hard at Chewy right now! He is too much! And it made me smile to see Oreo instigating play - it has been wonderful for him to have a little brother!

My goodness, you really will need the cookies and warm clothes! 18 inches? That's amazing! Chewy, keep that jacket on!
Haha, they looked cute with the dustings of snow on their faces!

P.S. Video just loaded, poor Chewy trying to get the jacket off! He'd be frozen with out it though! Oreo looked like he was having fun anyway!

Stay safe and warm!! We got about 5 inches here but it's also really cold for us and windy.

Those PB cookies look very easy and tasty, are they dog treats or people? Would love the recipe if dogs.

Happy new year to you and your gang

That was so cute! OMG should I be putting boots on Dakota? I don't...he isn't out as long as your boys are, is it ok if he doesn't wear boots?
Also, are those jackets the same kind that Dakota has? It looks like they are!
Poor Oreo wanted to play so badly!
Keep warm, we are going to be in single digits (and below) after tomorrow and we are expecting about another foot of snow too!

Chewy is so silly trying to take off his jacket under that evergreen. As a bonus he prunes the branches of that evergreen fur u.
