a poem for you

Evolution of a Snowman

On a cold, snowy morn, Mr. Snowman rose from the ground.
Chewy could not believe what he had found.

Twelve inches of snow we had that day.
More fun couldn't be had, even in sunny May.

Two days later the snow clouds opened again.
Twas difficult getting my students to pick up a pen.

Experts told us we would get two to four.
Thus, buses were late arriving at the school door.

Mr. Snowman, always full of wit,
Took on a new look - one of Cousin It.

Everyone was happy, a white Christmas for all!
Oreo shouted, "Please throw me my ball!"

Friday arrived with a warming trend.
Sadly, Mother Nature wasn't going to bend.

A thaw we would have, our white turned to brown.
Even Mr. Snowman began to frown.

And here our story saddens, you might hide your eyes.
Our dear Mr. Snowman slowly reached his demise.

Now dear friends, please don't be sad.
Soon it will be snowing like mad.

A new Mr. Snowman will rise from the ground.
Oreo & Chewy won't believe what they've found!

Such is the life of a snowman. It's comforting to know he will come to life again some day. :)

Very creative! I really enjoyed that. I can't believe how fast your snow all melted. I wouldn't worry though I'm sure you'll get more to play in.
