mishmash monday

Out of all the places in the house where the dogs could possibly lie down, i.e. dog beds, couches, human beds, recliners, hammocks, my dogs chose under the kitchen table.  They like to use the rungs as head rests.

I don't get it.  They are weird.

Our heat wave finally broke!  Spent all day outside yesterday, even took a hammock nap.  It was fabulous. Hope everyone else is getting some much needed relief too.

We had to spend much of last week indoors anyway, as Jeff is getting a garage built, so we were swarmed by trucks/construction workers.   All things that make sheltie dogs bark their heads off.

Had to sign a waiver before the concrete truck would cross our private bridge.  The driver gunned it across, and it didn't collapse.  Whew.  Although, that could've made an interesting blog post.

They do pick some odd places to snooze. Lucky you to have some break in the heat...just checked our weather and nothing below 95 for the next ten days...seems to have been this hot for the last month. Glad your bridge held up.

Lol . The spot under the kitchen table is a Sheltie man cave. Its like a secret hide out.

If you do solve the mystery about why dogs lay in the most inconvenient places, I hope you'll let me know!

I honestly think that sleeping in uncomfortable places is a SHELTIE thing!
I have often mentioned that I have given away countless dog beds that Dakota wanted no part of (either that, or our cat has taken them over)
I remember Priscilla saying that Eva is the same way.
Could it be that because they have so much fur they have "built in beds????"
:)
Have a great day!

My dogs go under the table , but only if I'm sitting at it.
I'm glad the bridge didn't collapse , that wouldn't have been fun.

Katie is only under the table if there is an opportunity for food to fall. Otherwise, she sleeps in assorted other predictable places. Like on top of air conditioning vents where she hogs all the air.

Glad the bridge didn't break. Must have been scary for the driver. And you guys.

Under the table? Weird. But cute. That doesn't happen here.

our two like to lay on the brick fire place hearth or the tiled front entrance way in the summer, in the cold months it's in front of the heat vent. when we visit my wife's parents home they can be found on the field stone front entrance way. I think it's the coolness they like.
