the gully

January

February

Hmmmm.  OK.  Not what I was expecting.   The only difference seems to be where the sun was hitting.  Not sure what time of day I took the first one.  From now on, I will try and take the photo at the same time each month (4PM).

I thought January 1st was unseasonably warm at 47 degrees, but February 1st was downright ridiculous - 60 degrees.  If you don't believe in global warming, come visit upstate NY in January & February, and bring your bathing suit.

OK, maybe not your bathing suit.  Last February, on this day, it looked like this:

Maybe March 1st we'll have some snow in the photo?

Until then, I leave you with this fond snow bank diving memory.....

Can't believe that it's February now. Keep the pictures going, it's a great idea to see the changes of the seasons.

For those who live next to the equator, i think hardly anybody notices the global warming issue even though our air-conditionings are switched on most of the time.

But what a big difference between last February and this February!

Well, 47 is cold to me. 60 is good, 70 is better!! Monday I taught a class outside at night. My fingers and toes were freezing. One guy went home because he was just to cold. Im not sure what the temp was. 40-50degrees. Last night, 70 at night. Love it!!

The sun wont be the same in the picture even if you take it at the same time because the sun is at different positions during different months. May have better luck with noon time than 4pm. Just take off from work, Im sure they wont mind. LOL

I can't complain about the non-winter we are having - it is a relief from the last few. Remember how about now we are always pining away for Spring?

I loved this snow bank video last year and I love it now! Oreo was too funny!

That was a great video. We just moved up north so the idea of a dog path is totally new to me--but makes sense now that I see it.

We were expecting to be cold here, but really are enjoying the weather. I'm just worried that one of two things will happen:
1) Winter will happen through April or
2) Summer will be even hotter

We moved here to avoid the hot summers, so I hope that's not the case!

It has been so warm here, we have had a few odd assorted cooldays but not many and we have had no moisture at all this last year, which is sort of scary

I KNOW! What's up with our weather?? I've been thinking I needed to go look at last years photos to see if we had a bunch of snow. Now I don't have to! I'd rather have it like this year, but I'm worried too that Feb and March are going to be terrible, like the great snow god in the sky has been saving up. We'll see.

Hi Sara, not a lots seems to change at this time of year although even the light makes your pictures a little different. I know what you mean about the hot winter, its been the same here, not a flake of snow yet.

Isn't it amazing what the weather's been like. We have snow here but it has still been warm and fairly dry, so far it's the 3rd warmest winter on record.

Can't wait to see the pictures of the gully each month. I've long said that I was going to do something like that, but have never had the will power, I guess!

Very little snow here, too. What a weird winter it has been.

I would say it is just one of those weird years. We still have had the smallest amount of rain this year where last year it rained constantly!

The video with Oreo was too funny of him trying to jump on the snow bank to get the ball. What a lot of work to get back on the path! It looked like you had a race track with the circle path cleared.
