misty monday ~ ice storm

Misty survived the historic ice storm of 2008, which shut down school, and left us without power for 3 days, my parents without for 5 days!

Here is Misty taking our trashed backyard all in.

branches that hadn't broken off were hanging VERY low

It did look quite beautiful.

Notice fallen tree in background.

Misty didn't care that we didn't have power.

eventually, the sun came out....

... and our power came back on.

My parents, on the other hand, had to wait a couple more days for their power.  So, they stayed with us.
Misty thought that was the best part of the ice storm.

Beautiful pictures of Misty! The sunrise picture is my favourite, everything looks so serene and grand. The power of Nature too!

The cold weather is just what any sheltie orders. Misty looked like she enjoyed it so much. We have barely seen Reilly the last few days with it being in the 40's he just spends all his day sitting on the deck watching the world go by and enjoying the cold.

That was a terrible storm but Misty made the most of it! She looked so pretty in the snow!

The best part about the storm was getting to expand her family in the house! I keep noticing what a beauty she was! And I sure enjoy looking at pretty ice pictures from the comfort of my sofa! It's sunshine and green grass for us this year!

Wow ... she looks quite bemused in a couple of the pics ... like many of us were :)
Glad you guys came through it unscathed ...

Dogs seem to take such things in their stride. It all looks very nice although in reality I'm sure there was more to it than beauty.

I'm sorry you went so long without power, but it sure looked pretty!

this was so touching. Misty looked like such a wise girl...such a beauty.

The ice certainly was gorgeous in photos but I know it had to NOT be fun going through that!

Your ice storm brings back memories of our ice storm in Missouri of 07. No power for 8 days. Brrrrr!! At least we had four doggies at the time to cuddle up with. We had a "war zone" in our back yard too. Now we live in Arizona, no ice storms.
