trick t-day ~ doggie sit ups

One of the tasks in our last lesson from Silvia's class was a strengthening exercise.  You have the dog go up into a "beg" position from a down and then back to a down.  Oreo is getting good at it.  Silvia said it was ok to use a lure for this trick.

Chewy...well, he's still learning "beg".  I think he finally is getting old enough to do beg without falling over.   Now, I have to increase the duration.

Actually, I need to teach him how to "sit", rather than offer me all his other moves.  Now that would be a trick.

What a lovely video of Oreo and Chewy!

Oreo is fantastic and his moves were so smooth but Chewy is cute. May be he thinks he should give you some improvisations.

I've been doing 'beg' with Eva for a long time, however, she can't really do it properly like Oreo. I think it's because of her weak hind legs. So whenever we do this, I'll use my legs to grab her bottom in order to give her some supports.

You make the best videos!! This one is adorable! Oreo is doing great and Chewy is too funny not sitting and trying all of his other fancy tricks. Any dog can sit! But can they lift two legs, back up, lie down, cross paws, etc! LOL!

Awesome job on this one - Oreo is perfection and it won't take long at all for chewy to get it. I can hardly believe how big he has got - he's as tall as Oreo now.

Tess can sit for about 2 seconds. I think its just a youth thing and will hopefully become a better student with age.

They are both so darn cute. Chewy just figures that if Oreo is the good student, he has to be the "ham". Love your choice of music.

what fabulous music for this video!

Chewy figures that if he does a few things he has to hit ONE of them right! lol

Oreo has it down pat! Well done!

My dogs took a long time just to get the muscle strength to sit up, I think some dogs just naturally have it and some dogs have to work at it, mine had to work;-). When we took the class I noticed some people seemed to find it so easy. Tell Chewy we understand it takeswork and he is doing awesome. That Oreo just looks like a natural, good job Oreo, we are impressed!!!

Great comedy routine! Love this video so much! Love the music you picked for it too, it matches Chewey's moves perfectly. I can't wait to tell Mommy's niece to watch it again with me. I think I can watch that video over and over again - it's so funny! This video was definitely worth the wait!

Great job Oreo! Chewy can learn a lot from you :) I'm sure he'll be doing it in no time too.

Awww - Chewy is just so cute, whatever he does!

Great video! I have to say, doggy push-ups is the one thing that I really hate having to do, even though I know it is "standard" for training classes. Honey just takes soooooooo long to lie down that it's painful to watch – she has always been like this, ever since she was a pup so it's nothing to do with old age or stiffness – and really, Danes just can't see the point of repetitively doing the same thing over and over again. If I ask her to sit up and then lie down and then sit up again, she would just look at me like I'm crazy – like "I've just done that! Why are you asking me to do it again? Why are you asking me to get up if you are going to make me just lie down again??"

Sigh.
