I think it's going to work

Had a bit of a rough start this morning. Oreo wasn't too thrilled about the puppy still being here when he woke up. Lots of growling and snarling. We started wondering if we would have to bring the puppy back.

However, I brought them out in the yard, and Oreo finally initiated some play bows, and a bit of chase. I was thrilled and surprised.

Fingers crossed that in a few more days, Oreo will be happy with the puppy.

Here is one play bow we caught on the end of this video, and Oreo was doing his "let's play" bark:

Awww, the puppy is so cute!!!
I'm sure the little puppy will melt Oreo's heart in no time and they will play chase all the time!

Puppy Love - oh my gosh he is so cute - I want one too :) :) :) And I love that little white tip on the the end of his tail. Hmmm Tippy would be a good name :)

It is just like watching Reilly and "IT" when "IT" came to live here. Reilly just didn't like "IT" at all and would snarl and growl - what got them finally playing together was tugging with Reilly's favorite toy (his boodha bone tuggie). Just be patient and understand that with two male dogs - Oreo is going to have to put the little one in his "place" a few times to make sure he KNOWS who is boss.

What a cute video. It will take some time, but I be they do learn to get along. The puppy is so cute.

Bailey went nuts when he heard the puppy barking on the video. He was looking everywhere to find the dog in the house. Katy completely ignored it.

Poor Oreo's probably feeling out of sorts with this strange new interloper in his house! Hopefully his playfulness in the yard helps ease the transition for both of them.

Could that puppy be any cuter!! I am dying here!!

Looks like major progress for Oreo - He'll come to love the puppy soon. His let's play bark sounds exactly like Ricky's!

OH my goodness, a new puppy! I'm sure Oreo and the puppy will be best buds, those first couple days are always an adjustment- especially since Oreo is used to being the one and only spoiled boy :) I am so looking forward to watching this little guy grow up and find a name! Congrats on the new family member!

That was very cute of the two of them. I'm sure Oreo will adjust once he figures out how much fun having a new playmate can be.

It's Oreo's old one, his is much bigger.

I'll get a new monogrammed cover for puppy once we solidify the name.Poor dog will be stuck with lots of handme downs.

It's hard having a new brother or sister. Mummy was really worried when Silky came, she says it took 3 days to see any sign of me accepting Silky.

Now of course we are good friends unless she tries to take my favourite bone or gets too much attention from daddy.

What a cute little guy!

Got to remember Oreo has had quit a bit of status change lately -- being the baby, being the little brother, being the ONLY ONE and now changing into the BIG Brother. He will be fine as soon as he realizes that being the Big Brother is a good thing.

Good Luck and Have Fun1

Every time I bring a new dog home, Mickey hides under the bed for 3 days. Then he gets over it. Oreo will get over it too. The puppy is just so cute.

The puppy is so cute and it looks like they are doing AMAZINGLY well for just being a few days. they will be great brothers very soon, every time we have brought in a different animal there is a few weeks settling in period and some dogs just do not know what to do with puppies if they have not been around tiny guys=as soon as Oreo figures out the puppy is fun and he is not going to take you away they will be doing zoomies and racing for the ball ;- ).
