new puppy

Welcome my new puppy to my world!

Puppy is an 8 week old sable male, and he came home with me today.

So far, Oreo is tolerating him, but I know in a few days they will be best buddies, as they both adjust to their new situation.

Trying to choose a name for the little guy. My list was Twix, Twinkie or Cookie. Then, I've gotten some suggestions already...Pecan Sandy, and Jolly. Jeff says Chewy, because he looks like Chewbaca from Star Wars. What do you think?

He is so fluffy and cute. And Sandy immediately came out of my mouth.... so I vote for Sandy. ....Mom

Sugar Snap, Snap for short. He is a cutie! Looked like a little lion for a moment when he laid down in the film. I like the name Chewy but don't now if I would want to reenforce that idea. Have fun! He is a treasure. Hope Oreo adjusts.

Oh my god, what a handsome little boy he is. I'm so happy for you & Oreo. Mummy sometimes calls me Cokie Cokie, so Cookie, Cookie sounds good to me

How cute he is. I see Oreo avoiding him LOL. I don't have any ideas about a name but you will want something to suit him for when he get older. I like just Sandy pretty good. Helen

We have never had one that young, he is beautiful. I am sure the two of them will learn their roles soon enough.

When I first saw the photo of your new furry baby, I thought he looked like a Triscuit. Your Grandmother loved those crackers.
What ever baby is named, he will be loved.

Oh my gosh - isn't he just the sweetest and bigs hugs for the new little guy! I love the name cookie - but it seems more like a little girls name. Just wait a few days and watch his personality - his name will come to you for sure !

He's so cute! I loved the video. I think that Cookie or Peanut (or maybe Peanut Butter) would be a good name for him.

You have already gotten some great pictures of him! Ricky was a blur in all of his puppy photos since he would never sit still! I am so happy for you - your puppy is adorable! Hope Oreo loves him soon!

Oh dear, congratulations!!! What a little handsome cutie pie you've got home. He is so adorable and he looks happy there. I'm sure he will bring you all a lot of joy and become Oreo's best buddy in no time.
Rosie's school internet is down since Friday and I can imagine what she is going to tell me after she reads your post. It must be something like, 'Mom, I want a puppy too!!!' :))
Chewy sounds great :))))

We love him already, he's adorable. Amelia likes Chewy or Finn, Victor likes Cookie, I like Peanut or Peanut Butter, but that's what we call Amelia. Have fun with him. big hug, Michiko and Amelia

No way!!!! Did I miss an earlier announcement!?! Sara, he's too adorable!

Names...hhhmmmm....I'll put my vote in for Chewy. I remember it took more than a couple weeks before Kona became Kona. It seemed to help to try a few out for a few days.

I want to hear the adoption story!!!

He is adorable! Congratulations! I don't have very many suggestions, but, in keeping with the "cookie" theme, some that came to mind were:

*Fortune Cookie - either fortune or cookie for short

*Sprite - it came to mind because I like sprite with my Oreos ;)

*Pretzel

*Snickerdoodle - Doodle for short

*Spritz

Well it's too late for me to be too brilliant with names, but he is a cutey!!!! Sara, I'm so happy for you! When you know someone who is such a wonderful pup mom as you are it's just thrilling to know your family is growing! Congrats!!! Keep the pics coming, and we need the rest of the story.:))

Give Oreo time too, it took Maizey a few days of RUNNING from magnus, but they are such good buddies now I can't imagine them not together.

OMG HE IS ADORABLE!!! I am so happy for ALL of you!!! He looks so wonderful, I am so glad we will get to watch him grow up! that name thing is hard, I had a heck of a time deceiding on Crickets name.

Oh he is just adorable, Sara! What about Graham, like graham crackers? Regardless of what you name him, he's a fortunate boy to have you and Jeff and Oreo as his new family! Congratulations!

I came back to second Graham! He looks like a little Graham Cracker, plus he seems to be a little fire cracker, he doesn't seem afraid at all! The pic with him nose to nose with metal chicken is so funny, it looks like he's saying, "hey! what are you??" So cute, I'm so happy for you!

He's gorgeous! I think Chewy too! Oreo will be an awesome big brother to him x

What a cutie. I'm sure you'llfind the right name for him

Graham is really cute - I don't think I have ever heard of a dog named Graham! It seems like we agonize over what to name a puppy and then once the decision is made, you can't imagine the puppy ever having a different name.

Helen said...

I still like one of your original choices, Twix. It's different, goes with the cookie theme and is a good short agility call name.

But like someone else said once you choose aname you can't imagine any other name for them.

Have fun!!!

Oh my god, he's gorgeous! I was wondering a couple of days ago if you were going to get a second dog anytime soon.

I'm throwing my lot in with Twix; twix chocolate bars are awesome (like your puppy!), and it'd be a perfect match - a carmel-inside chocolate for your caramel-coloured puppy, and a British chocolate bar to match the American chocolate cookie. :)

Sneaky Sara, getting a gorgeous puppy without letting us all know!
