misty update

Good news & bad news I guess. Misty's ACTH test results came back normal. So, we have ruled out Addison's disease.

Good that we won't have to deal with monthly injections, but now we are still on the hunt for what's wrong with her. Very frustrating, and heartbreaking to see your dog continue to suffer.

Next step, another ultrasound to see if anything has developed since the one in August. With the holiday, the soonest appointment I could get was a week from Wednesday.

I'm so sorry to read about Misty's ongoing health issues. It sounds like your new vet is trying really, really hard to get to the bottom of things. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Hang in there, Misty!

Oh, I was so hoping for something more conclusive for you and Misty. I'm glad her test came back negative but I sure hope you find more answers soon. Take care, Misty. Be sure to steal some extra treats on Thanksgiving.

Sure understand what you're going through Sara. I leftmessage for the specialist vet to see if she thinks we should repeat the blood work on Tucker. With no visible symptoms I have no solid way to judge if there's been any improvement with Tucker's liver and pancreas enzymes. Wishing you and Misty all the best.

Oh no - how frustrating!! I really hope you find the cause soon - it must be awful not knowing.

Sorry we haven't been commenting much lately - just so busy! - but we have been reading your posts and keeping up with your news!

Oh Sara - sorry to hear that you have to put Misty through more testing and have to wait so long for an appt. The news about the Addison's is great and a relief but you can feel relieved yet and I know it is so very frustrating. We have to hope that Misty isn't suffering too much - you do everything you can for her and I am sure she deals with it all better than we can imagine.

I wish she could just tell you what's up. Poor girl. She sure has gone through a lot. Hope she can at least be more comfortable soon.

Good luck! Have they tried her on any urinary tract food or acidifiers to modify the pH? Probably won't fix everything but might help?

I'm sorry to hear that things are still up in the air with Misty diagnosis. I think dealing with the unknown is aweful!

How frustrating it must be not to know what is wrong with Misty.
I'm very glad that she doesn't have Addison's disease. At least some good news :)

Nicki,
We haven't discussed changing Misty's diet yet. Diet is on my list of questions following the ultrasound.

The wholistic vet did put her on a couple supplements.

I am glad to hear it is not Addison's. Hopefully you will figure it out soon.
