tricky t-day ~ acorn game

My dogs have been obsessing over the acorn caps they've been finding in the yard.

On a whim, I decided to play a game with them.

I took three acorn caps, hid a treat under one, swooshed them around like the classic shell game, and well, watch and see...

I learned I've wasted a lot of money on those interactive dog puzzles. This was pretty much the same idea, with zero cost.

Wow! Aren't they clever?
Oreo is just brilliant! I love how he knows to lift up the cap to get the food!

That was a great game. Oreo reminded me of when we were young and I played football with my litle brother, when he got fed up he would pick the ball up and run off with it so none of us could play. I guess I should have had a treat to tempt him back!

You got it Dawn. Oreo has a temper tantrum every time trick time is over and I seal up the treat bag.

That is a fun game and such a cute video! Oreo really has your number - stealing that acorn and making you think he was going to eat it so he'll hear you say you'll give him a treat for coming back! Ha! Oreo has trained you well!

What a great video to come back to! :-)

Hee! Hee! When I watch your dogs, I'm reminded of why I always say Honey only has 2 brain cells knocking around in her head! I've played a similar game with her (using paper cups) - and she tends to just sit there staring stupidly at where the treat was before, drooling...! :-)

I agree about the money wasting - a lot of the games we can design/make up at home are just as good and cost nothing!
