digging allowed

"Hmmm, Mommy put up a new sign. She's into signs lately. Good thing I know how to read. I guess I should follow directions and get to work."
"I'm going to make a nice hole right here. Dig down deep enough to get to the cooler dirt."

"Ahhhh, there! A nice cool spot to put my toes. Life is good."

"Dontcha wish you had this sign in your yard?"

Misty is having some problems. I'm going to the vet today to get her back on some antibiotics and schedule an ultrasound for her. Hopefully, they can get it done this week. Misty had been doing really well after finishing the last round of antibiotics, but this weekend she started showing signs of discomfort again. Time to figure out what is going on (her bloodwork has some weird values). I've been putting off the ultrasound for the past month, because she had been doing well and honestly, I was afraid of getting bad news. Time to face the truth.

Sorry to hear your news about Misty - it's no fun getting older. We will keep her in our thoughts and hope for no bad news from the vet.

Love the photos and captions of Misty digging in the garden! She is so super sweet and she looks very peaceful lying there in the cool dirt.

Love the sign!
Great job about reading the sign, Misty. I bet your brother Oreo hasn't figured it out...just yet :)

What happened with Misty? Seems I've missed her earlier illness too. Whatever it is, I hope that the ultrasound doesn't show any bad results. Our paws are crossed for her!

What a lucky girl to have that sign in her garden! Riley is a master digger, but I try not to let her dig too much, because she would destroy everything :) A little too efficient!

Sending good thoughts your way- I know how hard it is to deal with unwanted news. Hopefully things are ok and Misty gets better quickly! Give her lots of kisses!

Jules & Priscilla,
I may not have posted about Misty being sick before. My vet was only able to give me a lot of "well it could be this, or could be that..." based on the bloodwork/urinalysis.

She has a high level of protein in her urine. And a couple of her blood values are high.. I think amylase and alkaline phosphate? Not sure if I have those right.

Her kidney function is good.

We need the ultrasound to connect the dots.

Don't forget urine culture and tick titers. The high protein and elevated liver values may not be related. Hope you find an easy fix!

Nicki,
We did the urine culture and tick titers, both came back fine.

Love that new sign and it looks as though Misty does also. Sending up prayers that she will soon be well. Helen

Well that's good but also bad, because it could have been an easy fix. Good luck!

Oh, did they check blood pressure too?

I don't think they checked her blood pressure. I'll ask about that. Thanks.
