tricky t-day ~ pull

We saw Ricky learning how to pull a door open.

I've seen a trick in a book, where a dog pulls a child's toy.

I thought to myself this week, "Wouldn't it be nice if Oreo could pull my little garden wagon around the yard for me?"

OK. We'll start small. First, we need to teach the concept of "pull".

We haven't gotten very far, but I love the idea of putting Oreo to work in the garden. Here is the short video of our minimal progress:

Oreo is doing great with learning "pull"! At least he hangs on to the rope long enough to actually move the wagon - that's great progress! My favorite part though was when he rested his nose in the wagon! Too cute!

Oh, Oreo is doing so great!! He is always such a fast learner. I've been trying to teach Honey to "pull" for ages - although she'll happily play tug-o-war - there seems to be a screw missing when it comes to actually holding and pulling something. Well, to be honest, getting her to hold anything in her mouth (other than her stuffies or her ball) is a general struggle!

Looking forward to watching Oreo's progress!

My son who has Baby a border collie with some kind of heeler mix told me to see Hachi with Richard Gere about his Akita so I saw that and then he told me he is teaching Baby to somersault (he was a gymnast) He says what she has learned is fantastic. She does it in the spray of the hose. I told him about you teaching Oreo to circle your legs. I thought that was beautiful, but I see he has not yet got the idea of pulling a wagon.

That is an adorable little wagon. LOL Looks like Oreo is well on his way to helping you in the garden with more than just his finely tuned digging skills!
